Hotels near Vatican City and Museums
Right across the street from the Vatican Museum lies this little boutique Hotel Alimandi Vaticano – Viale Vaticano 99 – 00165 Rome – Italy. The Almandi Hotel Group actually has other two hotels in the area; one is 200 meters down the stairs on Via Tunisi opposite to the Vatican Museums and then they also have a B&B located in an apartment building in back of the Hotel Alimandi Vaticano with its own entrance. They offer an excellent service and care about their guests!
One of my favorite Hotels for the creativity of the room design and the outlay is the 3 star rating Hotel Relais Dei Papi – Via Dei Gracchi, 161 – 00192 Rome. The hotel is situated in the elegant Prati area of the city, only a 5 minute walk from St. Peter’s Square and the Vatican Museums. This gem of a hotel is 500 meters away from the Metro station Lepanto.
Just around the corner of the Vatican Museums is Residence Candia – Via Candia, 135B – 00192 Rome. They offer studios and different sizes of apartments with a little kitchen for those of you who want to try to imitate the best Italian chefs! Residence Candia is more towards the city center and very close -just a 5 minute walk – to the Metro stop Cipro.
The name of this Bed and Breakfast says it all! B&B Difronte ai Musei Vaticani – Viale Vaticano, 84 – Rome – Italy is right in front of the Vatican Museums, you just have to cross the street. This B&B has four rooms and each room is identified with a color. Of course the color reflects the interior of the room!
The Il Gattopardo Relais – Viale Giulio Cesare, 94 – 00192 Rome – Italy is a place for everyone. If you’re here for a business trip or on vacation, you’ll find the cozy atmosphere in this stylish Bed and Breakfast just perfect for you! The street Viale Guilio Cesare is more a local area and therefore you’ll find typical local restaurants and cafeterias!
The Hotel Columbus – Via della Conciliazione 33, – 00193 Rome – Italy used to be a 15th century former convent and therefore it claims gorgeous rooms with high ceilings and magnificent frescoes which you can hardly find in other hotels, especially so closer to the center and the Vatican. When you walk out the hotel’s door and turn your head to the left, you’ll see Saint Peter’s Basilica!
