Sabatini Restaurant Florence Italy
Sabatini Restaurant is an easy walk from the Duomo and Piazza della Repubblica.
Sabatini Restaurant is a terrific place to visit. It is a superb old fashion full service restaurant. Our dining experience was excellent in all respects. Food was superb. Extensive wine list. Appetizers to main courses was fresh and tasty. Owners Claudio and Carlo are so welcoming to all their guests. Service from professionally dressed wait staff was flawless. They were friendly and attended to all details.
The interior of Sabatini Restaurant is stunning. Beautiful décor. Building was originally a church. Beautiful old wooden paneling and beams are remarkable. There are some built in benches along the walls. We had a table next to a large picture window. We had the pleasure of looking out and admiring their colorful garden.
We started with pâté de Foie gras. It was enriched with many pieces of black truffle. It really complemented the pâté perfectly. The combination of them combined was so full of flavor. My wife and daughter decided to share the swordfish carpaccio. It looked incredible. It tasted so fresh and light. After that they also shared a plate of porcini risotto. Very creamy with distinct slices of whole porcini. Both said it was perfectly seasoned.
My son and I also split our next courses. Steak tartare. This dish is brought to the table on a cart. Our waiter disassembled it in front of us. He then put lemon juice, tabasco, capers, and couple of other seasonings. After that he reassembled it. If you’ve never had steak tartare, try it at Sabatini Restaurant. We then went for the house special. Spaghetti alla Sabatini for two. It was prepared at our table. It was astounding to watch our waiter cook and serve the spaghetti before our eyes. It was executed flawlessly. Perfectly cooked past. Flavor was extraordinary. Sun-dried tomatoes, smokey pancetta, garlic and olive oil. We both agreed it was the best pasta we had ever had.
Italian trifle with layers of fresh seasonal fruits. It also consist of cream, chocolate shavings and sweet wine. The look and taste of this classic Italian dessert was fabulous.
Sabatini Restaurant is one of the fine restaurants in Florence to visit. It is a little higher in price than most restaurants. However it delivers value for the price. We enjoyed the experience and would definitely return.
