Grand Hotel Ambasciatori Sorrento
The setting of Grand Hotel Ambasciatori Sorrento is absolutely stunning. It is positioned right on the cliff overlooking Sorrento harbor, the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The hotel is about a ten minute walk into the center of Sorrento (Piazza Tasso square). Which means its nice and quiet at night around the hotel. When walking into town, there are a couple of different routes you could take with shops and restaurants along the way. Just be careful, some of the path ways are quite narrow and some of the way is up hill. On a positive note, the walk into town will help burn off some of the calories from all the delicious pasta and wine. It is also conveniently located for visiting major landmarks around the coast reached by bus or train.
The hotel decor is beautiful very ornate and well maintained. As you walk inside, you are immediately faced with marble pillars, floors and quality furnishings. Rooms are tastefully decorated in a traditional style, with plenty of storage space. Equipped with all that you need; TV, saftey deposit box, and reliable free Wi-Fi. A hair dyer, lots of towels and toiletries. Some of the rooms have balconies with garden views. Junior Suites overlook the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius.
Grand Hotel Ambasciatori Sorrento is exceptional in it’s standards, cleanliness and staff attentiveness. They work tirelessly to make sure you are taken care of at every moment. From the reception, restaurant, housekeeping and porter.
There is a wide range of breakfast food and drinks. Breakfast is held in a lovely room over looking the Bay. Plenty of choices which include; cereal, and fresh fruit. Yogurts, pastries, and of course the European tradition of cakes for breakfast. There is an omelet station. And also a member of staff on the pancake/crepe stand and he’ll make what ever you wish for.
The gardens are quite extensive and well maintained. With little nooks to sit, or sunbathe on loungers (sunbeds) alongside the pool area. They also offer snack bar service. There are plenty of tables to enjoy a light lunch from the pool bar.
Grand Hotel Ambasciatori Sorrento has a small private ‘beach’. It is lovely and very peaceful. You can get to it by going down the lift. No sand, however a sundeck with steps into the sea. The chance to swim in the sea straight from the deck is great experience. There are plenty of good quality sunbeds. There’s also a small bar located down there. They serve lunch time snacks and refreshments. They also serve various alcohol and non-alcohol beverages, at quite reasonable prices.
Room Tip: Would recommend a sea view room, as views are breathtaking.
