Hotel Centauro Venice
Hotel Centauro Venice is situated in the heart of Venice’s historic center. It is between San Marco (St. Mark’s Square) and the Rialto bridge. This area has many wonderful shops and restaurants. It is within easy reach of all of the city’s major cultural and artistic attractions. It is also close to a main Vaparetto ferry stop.
Hotel Centauro Venice is a little hard to find at first. However, when found it is in one of the best locations you could wish for. The hotel is down a little alley way on the left before you reach the bank. Helpful hint; there is a tiny sign placed on the wall about ten feet up pointing towards the hotel, so keep an eye out for it.
The hotel staff is friendly. They speak English without a problem. They are very happy to recommend restaurants and answer questions.
The continental breakfast (included in the cost of the room) is terrific. They offer a fabulous variety. Kept fresh and warm, and nicely presented. The breakfast room is located on the third floor. It’s lovely, bright and airy with a small balcony overlooking a canal.
Rooms are beautifully decorated in Venetian style. Very clean and well maintained. Some rooms come with a shared bathroom. Room is cleaned daily. Bathroom is refurbished every day with fresh towels.
Hotel Centauro Venice does not have an elevator, so be prepared for extra exercise. The climb up the steps is interesting. You will notice they are on quite a pronounced lean, but it just adds to the overall character of the hotel. Could be a little difficult to navigate if you have huge luggage, however this is normal for most hotels in Italy. If you have children or elderly with issues of climbing stairs, I would recommend a lower floor.
Tip: Please take note of the directions to find the hotel, you will need them.
Try to get a room with a balcony and view of the waterway. You have to pay extra, but it’s worth it.
