Hotel Miramare Positano
Hotel Miramare Positano is a remarkable hotel located on the hill overlooking the beach in Positano. It’s located approximately half way between the beach and the main road (Via Pasitea) going through town. There are many steps to descend to the beach and many to ascend to town but each step is really worth it. Keep in mind, Positano has stairs everywhere. So embracing the stair climbing is a necessity. By the end of your stay I am sure you will be a bit fitter and stronger legs. It’s centrally located, so it’s only a five minute walk to the main square (Piazzetta dei Mulini) which many of Positano’s stores and restaurants are located.
The hotel is very much old world charm. It is a small, with approximately a dozen rooms in the main building and a few more nearby in a separate building. Each room in the hotel has a balcony with a glorious view. From the room you can see the sea, the beach and a significant part of the hillside village. Rooms are tasteful and simple, but lovely nonetheless. Some are bigger than others but all offer the same beautiful view of the sea. All rooms come with Satellite TV. Air Conditioner. A minibar and a safe. Daily housekeeping. Free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
The entire staff is superb. Very friendly. Always smiling and making you feel at home from the moment of arrival. Especially, Rosita and Nicola. They both speak excellent English. They take the time to give you details of excursions and wonderful suggestions for lunch and dinner. They also supply you with everything you need for the beach; towels, waterproof beach bags, etc.
Breakfast is excellent with a reasonable choice of continental breakfast. It includes fresh fruit, eggs, meats, and lots of different breads. It is served in a beautiful room with a flowering vine spreading over the entire ceiling and the walls. The dining room itself overlooks the sea which is just amazing.
Unfortunately, Hotel Miramare Positano doesn’t have a pool.
Remember, there are a lot of stairs to and from Hotel Miramare Positano. If you have heavy bags or require assistance to transport luggage, you will want to call the hotel ahead of time so they can send a porter.
