Restaurants Near Milan Cathedral
Luini Panzerotti
A two minute walk from Milan Cathedral.
It’s fast food, Italian style. Panzerotto can be described as a miniature (pocket-sized) pizza. They are rather small, so you can try more than one. They are fresh, tasty and have plenty of variety. Just to name a few, they have prosciutto and mozzarella. Spinach and ricotta. Salami and cheese. Tomato and cheese. And you can also choose between fried and oven baked, sweet or savory. There is something for everyone. Get there about ten minutes before they open. There is always a line, but it moves pretty quickly during lunch hours. The staff is multi-lingual, helpful and professional. After you buy your food, you stand outside to eat it. There are no tables to sit. It’s a popular lunch spot for the locals. Go there if you visit Milan. It’s a must. Prices are really great too.

Ristorante Cracco (2 Michelin stars)
A five minute walk from Milan Cathedral.
Carlo Cracco is one of the most famous chefs in Italy. The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning. Elegantly designed, done in subtle woods and colors. The multilingual staff are very friendly and attentive. professional and very polite. Ristorante Cracco offers three menus. One is a la carte, which has terrific Milanese classics. Second is a full tasting menu, with an excellent combination of creativity, quality, proportion and taste. Third is a full tasting menu with truffles. All dishes are covered in a lot of truffles (your waiter will present it to you beforehand). Their wine list is extensive, and superb. In addition, they have a nice range of sweet and savory desserts. If you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion, I would highly recommend Ristorante Cracco. It is a bit expensive, but it will surely be a unique experience.

Galleria Restaurant And Pizza
A two minute walk from Milan Cathedral. It is located in the beautiful Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II Milan.
Pleasant dining, with authentic Italian food. The service, and quality of food are absolutely impeccable. Freshly baked pizzas are top notch. Gluten-free pasta and bread is available. Gluten-free pizza is not available. Their menu is extensive and has something for everyone. Osso buco is outstanding, very tender (falls off the bone) and flavorful. Risotto with saffron, is excellent. Fish is very fresh, and cooked perfectly. Pastas are generous in size, and delicious. The dessert selection is worth a special mention. The tiramisu and panna cotta are incredible. Other desserts in the case look just as wonderful. Due to the location, be prepared to spend a little extra. However, it will be worth it.

Giacomo Caffe is situated in Palazzo Reale, next door to the Duomo Museum. It is great place to stop for breakfast, espresso, cocktail or a quick bite. Food is fresh and the selection of cold and hot specials change daily (wonderful salads and sandwiches on the regular menu). Inside has a very cool retro style, and is full of character. Upstairs is very quiet and well kept, and furnished with bookshelves. There is also a beautiful outside terrace, which is completely private. The staff and service are both excellent. Prices, absolutely average. Which makes the place, a must for a short break after visiting the Cathedral.

Larte
A five minute walk from Milan Cathedral.
Larte is a newly opened restaurant. Inside has a beautiful interior, clean, fresh and spacious. The kitchen is in plain view, which is a unique experience. The staff are very friendly and professional. They speak very good English, which makes it easy to order. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can also stop in the front cafe for a coffee/espresso or mid-afternoon snack. The menu selection is vast, and the choices are very appealing. Dishes are original, creative and wonderful. They offer pastas, meats, fish, salads and sandwiches. Excellent wine list. In addition, they also have a wonderful assortment of sweets. Prices are bit high, however from the central location, I would say that is normal.

Obica Mozzarella Bar – Duomo
A five minute walk from Milan Cathedral.
If you love mozzarella, then this is the place to go.
Obica Mozzarella Bar – Duomo is located on top of the La Rinascente department store, next to the Duomo. The view from the terrace is beautiful, as it showcases the Duomo. The menu has many varieties of Buffalo Mozzarella served in many different ways. Their mozzarella tasting platter is a must. In addition, they also have fresh tasting salads, sandwiches and pasta. Pizza has a nice thin crust. Great flavor, the sauce and cheese is just amazing. They also have a variety for vegetarians. Coffee and desserts are also excellent, and a terrific way to finish off your meal. Food is high quality, staff are professional and friendly. Their English is great! I recommend this to anyone who is looking for terrific food, great wine and good ambiance. A little pricey, but compatible with most places in this area.

Cioccolati Italiani
A three minute walk from Milan Cathedral.
This shop is chocolate heaven!
Cioccolati Italiani is conveniently located behind the Duomo. Inside they have a beautiful set up, with an amazing selection of gelato. There are other choices filled with chocolate, including drinks, crepes and other delicious desserts. They have around 15 different types of gelato. They have at least 6 chocolate flavors alone. Strawberry, hazelnut and pistachio are some of the other favorites. If you wish, you can also have your cone filled with melted dark, milk, or white chocolate. They also have wide variety of chocolate toppings too. The gelato house special is very popular. It is served with specks of chocolate and hazelnut, almond and cherry. There are two lines. One to pay, and one to actually place the order. First, order and then pay for your size, flavor preference. You are then given a ticket with a number. It is very crowded inside, so you will probably have to wait outside. When they call your number walk up to the counter and pick out your specific choices. Friendly servers, and speak very good English. They are also super helpful, since the flavor descriptions are all in Italian. Don’t get put off by the line, it’s worth the wait. Delicious gelato, at reasonable prices.
